Abstract

Gaining weight are changes in the size of the weight either increase or decrease due to the consumption of food that is converted into fat and stored under the skin. Progestin injection is a contraceptive method that is given intramuscularly every 3 months. This study aims to determine the relationship between weight gain and the use of 3-month injectable family planning at the Teluk Dalam Public Health Center, South Nias Regency in 2021. Type of the research is quantitative research with a cross sectional approach, namely by collecting data at a time. The population in this study were all mothers who used KB injections every 3 months. The sample is 32 people with total sampling technique. The instrument used is a questionnaire given directly to the respondent. Data processing using univariate and bivariate analysis using Chi Square test with p-value = 0.028. There is a Relationship Between Weight Gain With The Use Of 3-Month Injectable KB. Expected that midwives as health workers at Teluk Dalam Health Center will always provide information and education to family planning acceptors about contraceptives and the side effects of these contraceptives. It is recommended to conduct similar research by examining other variables caused by 3 Months Injectable KB so as to find a better treatment.
