Abstract

Increasing age of a person marks entering old age, in old age the function of the body's cells will decrease with age. Chronic diseases will begin to appear which needs to be anticipated with early screening. The largest increase will occur in developing and poor countries. The prevalence of conical disease has increased, these diseases include hypertension, cholesterol, gout, rheumatism, diabetes mellitus. The number of elderly people is increasing, a system is needed in the community for screening, namely empowering posbindu, where staff, facilities and infrastructure come from the community itself. This activity screens for chronic diseases in the elderly. This research is descriptive, aiming to describe the incidence of chronic disease posbindu participants based on age and gender. The research population was 90 elderly people in Village X, Bandung Regency, in 2020. The sampling technique is total sampling. The data used is secondary data, taken from records of Posbindu activities. The results of the study from 90 respondents, hypertension was the most dominant, namely 40 respondents (44.4%), based on the age of chronic disease experienced, there were 42 people (46.6%) in the age group 62 - 74 years, based on gender female 46 people (51.1%). Continual community participation is needed so that posbindu activities become a means that is supported by the community by visiting regularly so that screening for chronic diseases in the elderly can be carried out at the basic level.
